New Twitter Handle

I'd been thinking about changing my Twitter name for the longest time until yesterday! I just recently got on Twitter and I did it solely for blog purposes. Of course I had to learn how to use Twitter, even though I had a general understanding; I had to engage with people; I had to find people to follow and get people to follow me; and during that process I found out how entertaining Twitter could be.

I use it to say whatever's on my mind at any given moment. Some of the things I say make me think, "Hmm, is this something "justmiblog" should say?!" LOL. I mean, I tweet about the shows I watch, I tweet out tons of articles and Buzz Feed quiz results, I mean really! It's fun...my most favorite thing of all is live tweeting during my favorite TV shows. If you haven't tried it, DO IT! It's so much fun watching a show with other people and reading what they're thinking. The people of Twitter are hilarious!!

Sunday Social

I haven't done Sunday Social in a while, so I decided to join in today.

1. When did you join Twitter? Great question. I joined Twitter on January 11, 2014. I wanted to expand my brand more and I had avoided it for a year. I definitely thought it was time.   2. Who is your favorite non-celeb to follow? Good question. I haven't quite found a favorite just yet. I'm still trying to learn my way around!!   3. Who is your favorite celeb to follow? Celebs are funny. Some of them only tweet about upcoming events or albums and that gets annoying. I want to find a celeb that's tweeting regular thoughts and occurrences like I am. I have yet to find a favorite in that category too...lol. I'll definitely take good suggestions though!   4. Have you ever had a celeb respond to your tweet? I follow some radio morning shows and I @ them from time to time to give my input on whatever topics they're discussing in the morning and I've had my tweets read on the radio. But I've never tweeted at a celebrity. Guess I should try!   5. What is your favorite store/brand to follow? @CurlBox. I have a membership with them and they have chats for different hair-related things. I participated in one chat recently and I actually gained a lot from that convo. I'll definitely take suggestions on good stores and brands to follow too.   6. Give us three tweeps we should follow we should follow. Me @justmiblog (of course), Nicole @pharr_away, and Erin @MrsErinAlmond!!   After looking at this Social Sunday, it looks like I definitely need to step my Twitter game up!! Don't worry y'all, it's on my to do list! Since I'm new to twitter, I've been trying to keep up with everyone that I follow. That's hard to do when your list is 400 people long. I don't understand! BUT, I recently got rid of some celebrities and store brands to help me do a little better with following actual people first. So follow me and I'll follow you!! Happy Sunday!

Stretched Twists

How I Avoid Shrinkage!

I recently joined Twitter!! I want to build my following so Fridays will become Follow Me Friday where I showcase one of my accounts to follow. Today, of course, will be Twitter!

I had so many compliments and questions about the stretched twist out I did a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to take pictures the second time around so I could show the technique. In my post, The Curl Is Back, I showed the products I used to accomplish the finished look. This post will focus on the technique, specifically the stretching part.

Here are pictures with the descriptions of what what's going on.

1. Pre wash
2. Shampoo
3. Before detangling with conditioner
4. Sectioned hair ready to detangle
5. After detangling
6. Cover with shower cap
7. Cover shower cap with satin-lined shower cap and let sit for about 30 minutes
8. Wash conditioner out

1. I t-shirt dried my hair

2. Pat my hair as dry as I could

3. Twisted my hair into medium sized sections

6. Stretched the twists and bobby pinned them to my head

These twists turned out ok. They weren't as good as the first stretched twists I did, but isn't that usually how things work when you try to replicate them?! As for now, I've finally washed my hair and decided to try the flexi rod set this time around. Stay tuned for a post about that.
