When God wants you to grow He makes you uncomfortable quote.I saw this quote this morning and thought I'd share.
It's so easy for us to get complacent. There's not wrong with being complacent, but don't be content with complacency. Most people dislike change. I must admit that I'm one who doesn't!! I think we don't like change because of how it makes us feel. My Bishop tells us not to make decisions based on how we feel. It's so easy to get caught up in our feelings. What we should be doing is listening to God. God has a plan for us all. We should be constantly growing!! So, when you start feeling uncomfortable...GOOD! Keep this quote in mind and seek God.

Have a blessed Sunday!

I Miss Her

My Grandmother

My Grandmother passed away in 2002. She was the matriarch of our family and her loss affects us during so many moments each year. I spent a lot of time with her when I was really young. The kind of young where the memories are there, but they're so hard to remember. I hate that. My grandmother was a very kind and loving woman. She loved each and everyone of us and she made sure to let us know it...while she was here and after she left. I have a special place in my heart for her and the woman she was.

She's gone but definitely not forgotten. We celebrate her life today, as a family, on her birthday!
Happy Birthday Eunice Mae Henderson Parker.
If it wasn't for you, none of us would be who we are!
I love you and will always honor you.

The Last Step

Flat Ironing My Bob

Now let me share this with you.

I washed and conditioned my hair with little to no trouble. It didn't lather up as much as I wanted, but I feel I was able to get it clean enough to last a few weeks. I dried it and it took longer than expected, but I was able to get both my roots and the extensions all dry. Now, my hair was ready to be flat-ironed.

Before I started flat-ironing my hair, I was worried that the prolonged drying for my roots may have dried out the extensions a bit. As I was blow drying I could feel how stiff the hair was, but for some reason I was convinced that flat-ironing would get it back to it's silky state!

And We're Off

Getting Back Into Working Out

Getting my body used to weight training after taking a break from my workout and exercise routinesI haven't written about my workouts since the end of October! What's been going on?!

Let me explain.

I work out at home, so my home is my "gym". I have a squat rack in the garage that accommodates any type of working out I need. My main focus is lower body (legs, glutes, etc.). I rarely work out my upper body, or anything else, but if I need to I can. So, coming into 2015 my goal was to buckle down again so I could get back to a healthier lifestyle.

I finally got started and there's only one word I can think of to describe it: TOUGH!! Working out has never been easy, but when I dropped off I was at a good point. This is the challenge I face.
