Update & New Design
Let me share a short story. Before I started blogging, I was very hesistant about pursuing it. My friend had started her blog and I thought it was awesome...it still is! While I was supporting her and her blog, she convinced me that sharing my hair story would be a great idea. I thought about it for a while but I was hesitant because I thought who would want to hear my story?!Thankfully I got past that thought. I thought blogging would be a great idea. It would be a way for me to record my natural hair journey for myself as well as share it with others out there who might be going through some of the same things I was going through with my transition back to natural hair!
I never considered myself a writer so I was a little intimidated about blogging because of that reason. I didn't want to be judged for sharing my story in a way that was comfortable for me (whether that meant being judged for bad grammar or for even having a blog solely based around my hair!). The beginning of the year rolled and I decided this would be a great time to give it a try! I chose to start my blog on Tumblr instead of another more word focused platform. I posted a few posts with pictures of my hair and my Tumblr took off...quickly!!! I was getting questions about what I was doing with my hair, products I was using, etc. People were liking my pictures and sharing my pictures and the whole thing started making me nervous. I didn't want anybody to "steal" my pictures. So I slowed my blogging down.
After transferring my Tumblr posts, I shut my Tumblr down!
I never really felt the need to have it, so I never thought twice about it after shutting it down...until recently!! I've started posting to Tumblr again. I love that it's not as uniform as my blog and not as fluid as my IG. It's a mix between both and I absolutely love it.
I've revamped it and now I'm looking to get social with it again! I have minimal followers and I'm following only a few people. Be social with me!! I'm looking to make my Tumblr a place like it once was, but better!! Join my Tumblr movement...and I'll join yours!!
To end my story, though, I learned that my blog is about me. People will think what they want to think about any and everything! I had to get very comfortable with sharing my story and my pictures. While I'm blogging for me, I'm blogging for you too!! I've connected with so many people through my blog and I know I've helped at least one person!! I'm grateful for the connections and I appreciate you all!!
For that, I will continue to push on...even when it gets hard!
Have a great week!
