Green Smoothie Cleanse Results

Did I See Improvements?

Ladies and Gentlemen. What a journey this has been! I labored through my ten days and made it to the other side. So, let's jump into these results!

I know what you're here for, so I'm not going to withhold the goodies. The first thing I want to share with you are my numbers.

The Numbers

I decided to do the modified versions of the 10-day Green Smoothie Cleanse. Two coworkersThe projected weight loss for the modified version is 5-10 pounds. When I started this journey, I weighed 157.6 pounds. When I finished this journey I weighed 149.4 pounds. That's a whooping 8.2 pounds loss!! Let's see what this looks like on my body.

My body changed significantly. It looks different and even wears clothes differently, which is the best part! Who knew 8 pounds could affect you so much. Here are my measurements:

Chest: 35.5 in. / 34.75 in.
Difference = .75 in.
I'm indifferent about this. I wasn't looking to lose here, so I'm okay with losing less than an inch.

Waist: 30.5 in. / 28.5 in.
Difference = 2 in.
This is great! This is where I was looking to make the most improvement and I accomplished that. I'm going to continue to focus on this area moving forward.

Hips: 41 in. / 39.75 in.
Difference = 1.25 in.
Who wants to lose hips?! I know I don't!! Of course you can't specifically target where your body gains or loses weight, but I wasn't looking to lose here!

Thighs: 24 in. / 23.5 in.
Difference = .5 in.
I feel the same about my thighs as I do my hips!

So, great work, right?! The two coworkers that did this with me did the full cleanse. One coworker lost about 12 pounds and the other lost about 5 pounds. Everyone's body is different but I feel like my body worked magic to have all this happen in just 10 days! I highlighted the areas in the picture where you can see the differences. I've noticed differences in my face, legs, and stomach the most. Imagine if I were to do this again! I'm not, but just imagine (Lol)! I have, however, taken a a few things from this smoothie cleanse. Let's talk about what they are.

What Will I Do Differently?

A few weeks before the cleanse, I decided to be conscious of certain foods I eat. To that list I want to add salt and sugar. These small items are in so many of the foods and drinks I consume, so I want to utilize more natural options in my diet.

Food has changed so much over the past 50 to 70 years. Food is being produced at such a quick pace and it's being made more than it's being grown. You really have very little control over the foods you consume, unless you have your own farm! The instructions for this cleanse recommended stevia and sea salt for different recipes. Stevia is a natural sweetener and sea salt provides minimum amount of sodium to the body. This was my first time being exposed to either of these and they weren't bad at all! I couldn't tell a difference between these and the normal salt and sugar I use so I plan on adding both to my diet moving forward.

I also plan to continue drinking morning smoothies. Breakfast is the hardest meal for me. I'm trying to get out of the house and to work on time, so I rarely have time for the type of breakfast I need to be eating. With the smoothies, I'll be able to give my body what it needs and drink it on the go!

New Goals

Being able to knock so many things of my goal list, feels good. My weight loss goal for the year was to 10 pounds. I weighed about 160 at the beginning of the year, so this cleanse pushed me under the weight I was shooting for! Now, it's time to set new goals. Here they are:

1. I want to get down to 145 pounds.

Weight fluctuates all day long. I want to have the flexibility to eat like I want without having to worry about carrying the weight in the wrong places. If I get down to 145, I'll have about 5 pounds of wiggle room.

2. Switch it up!

This goal is referring to my exercises. Before the cleanse, I only worked out my lower body. Since my legs have gotten smaller, I intend on keeping lower body exercises at the top of my workout list. However, I want to incorporate different kinds of exercises. I've begun focusing on cardio, working out my upper body, and dabbling in yoga.

3. Do one pull-up and one (REAL) push-up by the end of the year.

Now that I've lost the weight, I have to focus on toning different areas of my body. Since I'll be working out different areas of my body anyway, why not create an attainable goal that will help me determine if I'm making progress?!

Take Home Message

I've always known that I can do anything I put my mind to. This cleanse was reinforcement of that. It's good to reinforce positives. The purpose of the cleanse was to rid my body and organs of toxins. I hope this was done and that moving forward, my organs can effectively process everything like it should.

On the flip side, there are many things you can do to lose weight, but you want to remember to stay healthy! Research things before trying them. Talk to people who have done it. Ask questions!! Would I recommend the Green Smoothie Cleanse? Sure! The Green Smoothie Cleanse is something that can be implemented at any time. The author who wrote this book is very visible. She has a Facebook group full of supporters and there isn't a lack of people willing to speak to the cleanse's effectiveness. I plan on keeping this cleanse in my back pocket and pulling it out whenever I need it!
