Maxi Skirt OOTD

I'm in a new city. My fashion goal is to try and adopt some of the styles of the city while integrating some flavor of my own. Any way you put it, I want to be more fashionable. I haven't really been paying much attention to fashion since I haven't had a chance to "get out" much this year. I hope to be doing more of that and when I do, I want to be prepared. Here's one outfit that's a bit different than anything I would have normally put together.

Beauty World Earrings
Body Central Necklace
Michael Kors Watch
Old Navy Tank Top
Charlotte Russe Maxi Skirt
And Sandals I've had for years that finally gave out on me. :-/

What's different about this outfit, for me, is the skirt. I don't normally wear skirts or dresses but I know the maxi skirt has been really big this year. I guess it gives you the best of both worlds. I can say that I've worn two this week and they're starting to grow on me (even though it's a little late with fall being 12 days away).

I guess I should try to be more current with styles and at least give these things a try when they emerge instead of waiting until the last minute!

Lesson learned.

  6. love your style. I am really short and haven't been sure about the maxi skirt, but you have inspired me. the tank color looks great on you too! excited to find your blog!

    1. Thank you!! I don't know much about being short, but have you tried rolling it up and sewing the rolled part of the skirt into place...or cutting the bottom and and re-hemming it! Just suggestions :-) I'm hopping to try and wear these in the winter...but we'll just have to see how that goes! LOL

  8. You have such style. I seem to have lost mine along the way and adopted the yoga pant trend. I was always in the restaurant industry where everything I wore to work was ruined then went to a work at home mom who could work in jammies....getting dressed for events are not so easy! :( I wish I were a few inches taller so I could wear maxi skirts!! I am about 5 foot nothing and it shows!!!

Thanks for sharing at the friday follow along!

    1. I'm kind of in the same boat with having lost my style. Maybe I really haven't, but I certainly feel like I've lost it along the way! Now that I actually have to get dressed for stuff, it's like where have my clothes gone?! LOL. I suggested to one of the other ladies that she try rolling up the skirts or hemming it a bit higher! You never know, it just might work out!!

      Thanks for stopping by!
