Busy Hair

Wash and Go

I'm sure you guys have noticed that I've been missing. If you've been keeping up with me, you know how busy I I've decided to quit explaining my busyness because I know you all understand. As much as I want to post every day, I can't. At least not right now. If there is one week when I do...applaud me, because it wasn't an easy task to do!!!

Because of my busyness, I had to find something to do with my hair. I'd gotten a protective hair style for the holiday. After a trip to King's Dominion (the water park especially...a trip which I'll post about later in the week) my hair was threw! Since I wasn't home that weekend, I decided to do a wash and go.

The wash and go worked fine, but I didn't have all the products I needed to make it pop. So when I got home, I decided to wake up early Monday morning and put the effort into trying to do a proper wash and go.

The picture at the top left shows the style wet. I think my hair is gorgeous when it looks like this! Here are the products I used to get me through the process:

All the products used were from the Design Essentials Natural Hair Care Line except the oil and gel. I washed with the Curl Cleanser Sulfate Free Shampoo & detangled with the Moisturizing Conditioner (with Rose Hip Oil & Coconut Milk). After detangling, I rinsed.

I moisturized with the Daily Moisturizing Lotion and sealed it with Influance's Natural Oil.

I parted my hair into small sections. As I parted each section I coated it with Curl Stretching Cream then Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel (max hold).

I love the way my hair looks wet and I wish it would stay this way...but it shrinks as it dries...bummer!! The picture on the right shows the dry wash and go look.

Here's a closer look at my "natural curls"!

I know it's not good to wash your hair every day, so I was unsure of what I'd do with my hair throughout the week. Due to my busy schedule, I YouTubed ways to care for wash and go's overnight. The method I found to be referenced the most was the pineapple method. Although my hair isn't long enough for this...I decided to give it a try anyway and it worked! I was able to keep the style all week, thankfully!

Although, my hair was starting to look a little rough towards the end, I made it through! The picture on the right was me on Thursday.

I don't know if I'll use this style often, but I'm sure it'll come in handy in the future.

  1. You have such a beautiful curl pattern, Mionna! And kudos to you for making a wash-n-go last so long!!!

    1. Thanks Nicole! It is very nice...I just really want it to be LONGER! And I'm very surprised it lasted that long too! You know I don't use gel, so that was thing #1. After that first application, I didn't put anymore...and the gel didn't flake or I have a good experience with it this go round.

  2. Your hair looks nice both curly and straight!

    1. Thanks Erica. Also, thanks for stopping by...I will definitely return the favor!

  3. You have lovely curls!

    1. Thanks...looking back, I would have never thought I'd love my natural hair as much as I do!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Loving your hair! I can't wait to cut my hair so I can go back to my wash & gos. I miss them!

    1. Thank you Elle! I definitely learned a lot from this wash & go. I'm not sure that I'll be doing it until my hair gets a little longer...but who knows, I've been watching more videos and trying to get more education about how to do them so I can retain some length and I might want to try it again!

Thanks for stopping by...I'll definitely be checking out your websites!

  5. Gorgeous hair. I really need to try mixing my eco gel with a cream I am always hearing positive things about it.

    1. I'm still trying to get on the gel train. I just feel like if you put the gel in there then the only thing that can get it out is washing it and I'm just not with the washing my hair more than every 2 weeks thing.
