My Wal-Mart Experience

The thing about Wal-Mart is I always seem to spend a lot of money there whenever I have to buy one of these items:
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Pads/Tampons/Pantyliners
  • PlugIn Air Fresheners
The local Wal-Mart is unorganized and not well stocked. With these two things in mind, my goals for Wal-Mart are:
  1. Get in and get out!
  2. Find as many coupons as I can for those 4 items
  3. Try to look for those items at cheaper prices when I don't need them, so I'm not forced to buy them when I do need them
I shop at Wal-Mart because I'm convinced they have the cheapest prices around. I've purchased a small notebook. In this notebook, I will write down the prices of items I regularly buy and the store. If I buy items on sale, I will also note that and what the sale price was. If I need bread, I'll be able to open my notebook to the Groceries page, find bread, and see it's price at different stores.

My goal is to ultimately become better at using the websites I'm subscribed to to know where the deals are, but also know where to find items at their cheapest when they're not on sale.

My best buys from this trip were:
  • 250 paper plates
  • George Foreman grill
  • Sparkle paper towels
  • 15 bottles of water

Right now I'm in the trial and error stage with this couponing thing. This stuff might sound time-consuming up front, but I think it's a smart idea and will come in handy in the future (especially when I have a family). I guess we'll see!!
